Thanks to a groundbreaking partnership between the University of Utah and Salt Lake Community College, you can earn an associate’s degree in two years by taking SLCC courses before taking University of Utah courses to complete your bachelor’s degree, all without ever leaving our Herriman campus.

Students will have access to a full set of resources and services needed to successfully complete their degrees in a hybrid format. It truly is a one-stop shop to success.

Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) focuses on understanding human growth and development across the lifespan.   • SLCC delivers lower-division courses at the Herriman Campus, and the University of Utah delivers upper-division courses in select programs at the Herriman Campus (See academics page). Any University of Utah student can take classes at the Herriman Campus if they meet pre-requites.  If you are a prospective transfer student, you may apply for admission to these programs as transfer students through the regular transfer admissions process Visit the How to Apply page to learn more. Students transferring from SLCC or another domestic accredited college or university will be considered for admission at the University of Utah and once admitted, may register for courses at the Herriman Campus.

  • Yes, the Herriman Campus can be utilized by any University of Utah Student; it’s a great location if you need a study spot, touch-down spot for study groups, or want to access university support services, Academic Advising, and Student Affairs resources.

  • Tuition and fees for University of Utah undergraduate courses at the Herriman Campus are the same as students on the main campus. Please visit our Tuition & Fee Schedule Page to estimate your tuition.

  • As a University of Utah student at the Herriman Campus, you have access to a variety of resources to support your academic success. Select programs and resources will be delivered on-site at the Herriman Campus, such as Academic Advising and Student Accountability through the Office of the Dean of Students, while others will be available virtually as they are to all University of Utah students. The Herriman Campus offers a vibrant student experience with both the University of Utah and SLCC offering a wide range of student belonging programming and events to help you find your community here.  The University of Utah also offers student engagement opportunities and on-campus employment through student internships at the Herriman Campus.  Because students at Herriman will pay all student fees, students can also travel to the Main Campus to access additional resources such as the library or campus recreation services. Students can access a suite of services and programs and receive assistance with referrals and scheduling appointments at the U front desk in the lobby of the Herriman Campus.

  • Students in academic programs offered at the Herriman Campus will be able to take all of their courses at Herriman or online by taking lower division courses through SLCC at Herriman and then seamlessly transferring to the University of Utah to take upper division courses through the University of Utah at Herriman. Students may elect or be advised to take a class on main campus based on their interests. Students can contact their academic advisor or the Herriman academic advisor for additional information about course planning for their program/major.

  • As a University of Utah student, you do not need to apply separately to take classes at the Herriman Campus.  If your academic program is offered at Herriman, or Herriman is offering a course you are interested in taking, you can simply register for the course if space is available.  When searching for Herriman courses in the course schedule, look for the section number 080 to designate the Herriman Campus.  Contact your academic advisor to discuss your options.

  • Applications submitted after these deadlines will be considered on a space-available basis. Spring applications due Nov 1. Summer (Full Term) applications due April 1.
